TOPIC: Group Reg, Payment GW, Licensing, Items for Sale

After a recent review of your product, I am very impressed with the features and your support tools (forum, faq, tutorial videos, etc.). I am currently using another commercial registration extension and am pretty dissatisfied with both features and support. I'm hoping DT Register will solve some of these issues.

I have a few questions:

1. Group registration
I see that you can customize the form fields for different members of the group. I have registration scenarios where members of the group may live at the same address and share common info, and also where group members have completely different info. Is it possible to customize the group member forms so that one can choose the same address or different address - if different address, then the required fields appear?
Is the confirmation email sent to the person registering for the group or to all members in the group?

2. Auth.net payment gateway
This is an area where I have had significant difficulty with the other package. What info is passed through the gateway to auth.net? Might in include the event name and the unique registration number? Can this be customized at all? It is desirable for us to be able to go into the auth.net admin interface and track specific payments for specific events. The is a really important tool when attempting to track multiple payments from the same individual.


3. Site licensing
I have several sites that I maintain for different scouting programs (BSA), so this is definitely not a paid web business. After purchasing the extension, is it possible for me to use this for a couple of different sites, or am I restricted to one site only?

4. Additional items for sale
I think this is possible through the custom forms, but currently we offer extra items for sale with an event registration. This may include t-shirts, patches, hats, etc., and we let them specify a quantity. Can this be accomplished through form customization?
We also use dummy events to pay annual dues for certain groups, sell trading post items, etc. Can this also be handled through the forms?

I am very hopeful that this extension will meet all of our needs.

Hello! Glad to see you are in the process of moving to the best option for your site

1) Group Registration - DT Reg has two types of group registration: Simple and Detailed. The simple option just asks how many members are in the group then going to the billing/main contact page. The Detailed option has a form for each member of the group to collect all of their info. There is not a feature for selecting the same address as you described. Data can auto-populate into the forms out of the profile for individual registrations and for the final billing page of a group... but nothing like that for each member. Regarding the email, it will by default go to the main group contact (billing person). You can set in config for each member to also receive the email or not.

2) Authorize.net - We use the AIM integration method so the authorize.net process is done entirely in your site. No redirect to an external site. The event name is passed as the description for the payment. The confirmation number is also sent as the invoice number... so you should have all necessary details to track payments. Also, you can have the authorize.net transaction ID included in emails (user and/or admin... you customize both) and you can also see that trans ID in the backend when viewing the record details.

3) Licensing - Our single site license gives you support and updates for one year for ONE site. You CAN install it on additional sites as GPL licensed extensions do allow... however when you need support, it will only be eligible for the site the license is purchased for. We also have a developers license option that will give you support for unlimited sites and will also give you two years of updates instead of one.

4) Selling Items - definitely possible with our fields. No other solution has the flexibility that our fields give, with the ability to add fees / discounts, setting limits (like a capacity) for each selection field value, and the use of conditional fields (where field X only shows if the user selects the appropriate value in field Y).
