I'm trying to find out if DTH Register will work for my situation. I've done a search of the Pre-Sales topic and while I've found some similar situations, none have quite matched what I need. So pardon my overly-long explanation, I just want to make sure I am clear on my needs, as I really like what I see with this (especially the back end reports...) and really hope I can put together a case for it.
I need to set up registration for a convention. I need to be able to have one person register and pay for an arbitrary number of people, with each person potentially having different costs based on age and fee fields selected, and we use paypal standard for payments.
For instance, normal cost would be $35 for the weekend. Children between 6 and 13 get in for half price, while those 5 and under are free. There is also the option to purchase a banquet ticket for $20, a coffee mug for $5 and a commemorative T-Shirt anywhere from $20 to $25 based on size.
We would be generating pre-printed name badges from the data collected, so everyone must have a registration entry (including free/comped attendees), but only one payment would be made.
So, we could have a guy, his girlfriend and their two kids, one 12 and the other 4.
Both adults and the older kid would have a banquet ticket, the guy has a mug and they get 4 t-shirts (1 L, 1 SM, 1 Kid M, 1 Kid sm). The guy would register all 4 people and pay the entire total all at once:
Him - $35 + $20 + +$5+ $22 (both full membership, banquet ticket, mug and tshirt)
Her - $35 + $20 + $22 (both full membership, banquet ticket and tshirt)
Older kid - $17 (we round down) + $20 + $20 (child membership, banquet ticket, tshirt)
Younger Kid - $0 + $20 (free registration and T-Shirt)
My idea is to have him go through the registration form for each person, selecting the appropriate Fee Fields (banquet ticket, t-shirt) for that person, then adding that person to a cart (for lack of a better term), going on to a blank form and do the next person. Once done adding all the people, checkout and pay for everything at one shot (in my above example, pay a grand total of $231). The back end would show all 4 of those people as paid and what extra items they purchased
a) can DTH Register handle the situation as outlined above or b) is there a different way to set up DTH Register to accomplish the same ultimate thing (have one person register and pay for multiple attendees, potentially with different items purchased and have them all marked as paid once the paypal transaction is approved)
