Hi everybody,

yes, I had hesitations on updating to 2.7.x. I am using 2.6.8 and I am happy that it is partially (!) stable. Lots of minor bugs, but it´s working.

After 2.7.3 was out and Nathan wrote the article about "removing hesitations" I thought it might be time to update. And I did. What should I say? After working the whole night on it I took my database-backup and downgradet back to 2.6.8. It was definitiely not working for me.

I opened a support-ticket. Matt answered. I was happy, that Nathan seems to get some help, because he sometimes just needet much to long for answering. I liked him, just the answering-time was much to long, some of my tickets are still open ... since years!

Matt told me to do, what I already did. And after I told him, that I already did it, he offered me that for 35 Dollars he would do it himself. What would he do? Exactly the same as I already did. Frustrating. Because since I told him, that I already did it and it didn´t work he didn´t answer anymore.

I like DT-Register a lot and I am using it since many years. But for me it seems that it is not getting more stable, it seems much more for getting instable from version to version. MyScript is still notworking, I never recieved any answer to my offer to pay for the integration of MyScript. Now I am hanging on this damned update.

'So I am just curious: How is the experiance from others? I like to stay with DT-Register, because I REALLY like the software, but if this instabilities, if the lack of support and the uncountable bugs, if all of that stuff is not solving some time it might make sense to change to another system. How do you deal with that?

Hi Julian.
I Myself had a lot of problems with 2.7.X but with every Upgrade the problems and issues disappeared . I am running this on my site and for the last 2 months it has been working perfectly . A lot of my problems were down to User Error ( Me ) . If it is set up EXACTLY as instructed in all the Video Tutes and forum posts etc . You should not have a problem. I myself was at my wits end thinking the problems I was having actually lay in the Dt Reg component itself . But I was wrong . Depending on how you set it up and what you need , this component is obviously going to work differently for every person that has bought it . For me I am not using group reg or a payment gateway for eg. And I am not seeing the issues others are having with it in those regards . All Up I think the support is great here as most issues I put a ticket in for were actually answered in the forums ,where IMO they should be so others can benefit the results and see if it is their fault or the programs . Personally I would say ( at a guess ) that your tickets that were submitted were answered in the forums . And if not I am sure these guys are looking into them as they always seem to keep the updates going to rule out problems with some servers or hosts .
I am EXTREMELY happy with Dt Register and the way it is working for me .
Maybe it would have been better actually explaining to us ( the forum users ) what problem you were actually having . Maybe others have experienced the same issue and could lead you on your way to a fix . There are lots of users here who are willing to help ( Me being one as I need to repay some debts here lol )

Hi Kev,

partially I agree with you. I am extremely happy with DT-Register and Nathan is very, very friendly and motivated in helping in case of problems.

Unfortunately it seems that Nathan just has "too much work". Answers need a long time, and I have some tickets open since years. Maybe some of my problems with DT-Register would have solved since a long time if this "old bugs" would be solved. ;-)

However, there are some things that I really, really would love to see in terms of "support". For example: The Ticket-system is definitely not the best one. Also the forum is not that spectacular.

If I imagine having a good ticekt-system, having maybe a Component like JA-Voice in the back and clearly solving issues IN THE FORUM, so that solutions of any kind are open to public view, this would make life much easier. ;-)

However, Nathan just mailed me a day ago that he will have a look why the upgrade does not work for me. My experiance is, that when Nathan "is on", then he really solves it, so I am hoping that he will solve it.
