We have updated the package to 2.7.12c and all users should update right away. Here is why:
First, issues happening with the text editors not properly loading in configuration and events management... or not able to be typed in... were increasing quickly. This issue normally also caused the toolbar to fail so you could not actually save any changes in config or events.
With Joomla updates and such, it was only getting worse, mainly in Joomla 1.5 but also seen in 1.7. This was not a DT Register issue, but a known issue that can happen with a text editor loaded inside of the Joomla tabs script. We needed to get a fix for this quickly, so we replaced the tabs with a different script.
Second, we were seeing more frequent issues with too many queries and memory usage problems... particularly for users with large numbers of events (usually frequent repeating events). So we made modifications to drastically reduce the number of queries in front/backend event management pages... which also improved the frontend events list and the backend records area. This also greatly dropped the amount of memory used. So anyone having the memory_limit problem which would result in a fatal error (blank page), that issue needed to be fixed and was fixed.
This was done and updated as 2.7.12a.
We did that update quickly as we were finding many users having that problem. With the update, we began to find some issues that were not initially found after the applied script changes. Some were corrected and updated as 2.7.12b, but the full fixes were not found until 2.7.12c. Issues included:
- Event pricing and fields settings were no longer being saved properly when creating a new event or editing an existing one.
- Fee calculations on the registration were now failing.
Now, these issues are resolved and available. For anyone that had updated to 2.7.12a or 2.7.12b, you need to check the following (IMPORTANT):
- After updating to 2.7.12c, check your events and make sure the pricing did not get messed up in the previous update. You may see your individual price field blank, but that price showing as a group rate for 1 member. Make sure the individual price field is filled in properly... remove the 1 member group rate, or change it to $0 for 0 members.
- Also check all of the field settings for your events as it's possibly that they were reset to Default.
For those that did a 12a or 12b update, we apologize for the inconvenience. The issues being addressed were very important and we were trying to get some improvements quickly available. Some calculation issues were remaining that were found in 2.7.12c. We've now updated to 2.7.12d and all tests show calculations are now good. After updating, check your events and make sure fees are saved correctly in the event also.
I was continuing to have massive issues with the fee randomly changing and populating a 1 PER PERSON $XX.XX rate, that was turning my fee on and off every other save.
