TOPIC: DT Donate and PayPal requirements for donations

PayPal can be used for donations and there are "Donate" buttons available. However, PayPal requires that the entity accepting donations be a "charitable" organization under state law and IRS regulations.

We are not a charitable organization and the donations we accept would not qualify for tax deductions. Our site has an ecommerce module, but it requires a set price/fee for each item. While it is fine to have suggested donation amounts, it's also important to have an "other" option so the person can give an amount of their choosing.

Does DT Donate have an option for those donating to set the amount of the donation? Also, can this be used with PayPal?

Yes, DT Donate can take user-input donations/payments... OR pre-set amount selections... OR BOTH!
