TOPIC: Using Conditional Field Causes 'Next' to disappear

I've set up a student registration form where there is an option to also register a sibling, i.e. twins. The field is a checkbox with fee attached. When selected, a 'Conditional' 2nd text field appears for the sibling's name. It all works great except the 'Next' button disappears once the 'Conditional' field appears.

I've searched the forums and it looks like this was requested by other users. My question is how do I get the 'Next' button to reappear so that the registration process can continue? The form is just stuck.

I'm running ver. 2.6.9a on Joomla 1.5. Yes, it is up to date w/o loading ver. 2.7.
