I couldn't sleep last night until I tried the long awaited 2.7 release, but had to give up in the end because I couldn't get it to work.
I upgraded from 2.6.9 and had no errors upgrading. I edited and saved the config, each field, and the event. Here are some of the issues I found so far:
- the standard fields like name, address, email, etc. are now gone, so I had to add them as new (custom) fields.
- the names and emails of existing / pre-upgrade registrants are empty and can't edit existing registrations in the back end because there is nothing to click on to edit (eg. group member count shows up but not hyperlinked)
- can't edit Pay Options - others reported the same
- The big one: can't enter new registrations through the front end - clicking Next after the first screen always results in "Fatal error: Call to a member function load() on a non-object in (path to web files)\libraries\joomla\user\user.php on line 597"
I even tried uninstalling DTRegister completely, including deleting all the database tables, and starting again as a clean install. In this case, the standard fields (name, address, etc) were automatically created in Fields. I did not add any new fields and left most of the standard config untouched. I created a new event with minimal changes. I still can't edit Pay Options, and I still can't go past the first screen when I try to register through the front end without getting a Fatal error as above.
I just want to know... am I the only one experiencing these issues? Has anyone been able to set up and use 2.7 to process a registration all the way through? I'd love to see a working 2.7 install if anyone's got one, to convince myself that it CAN work. Or should I wait for the next patch release before I try again?
I am a registered customer, and the only reason I haven't submitted any tickets yet, is because I am testing all this in my local dev environment so I can't give access to my set up from the outside, plus there are too many issues to log each one at this stage.
