I found that if I turned off the core SEF, the next steps were available.
Unfortunately I can't turn the SEF off as a solution - all my links from google and incoming links (18k of them) are generally in the SEF format.

This is resolved in 2.7.0f, verified to work along with core SEF. Main issue was when using IE, but all should be fine now.

I still can't get it to work in 2.7f. Same issue. Blank page after clicking "Try again" Happens with Safari & Firefox no matter what combination I try.

I have the same problem with the frontend panel. When trying to add new event, edit, copy or anythin else in the front panel while the core SEF is enabled the link just show a #.
Pushing it sends me to my frontpage.
