I am responsible for the web site for the Manchester Cadet Tournament http://www.manchestercadet.org/ for which we use DT Register for competition entry.

This year the foil competition is part of a European circuit which makes the entry requirements more difficult:
  • International competitors register as a group, this is easily handled within DT Register
  • We are allowed 64 entrants from the home country
  • Up to a cut-off date we want to allow only those who are in the top 64 of the national ranking to register and be entered for the competition
  • For those below the top 64 we are happy for them to register but be placed in a pending status until the cut-off date
  • After the cut-off date any remaining places will be allocated on a ranking basis
  • We have a national rankings administrator who could log in to the web site and change the status
  • We have a list of names and rankings that could be used to form a table within the Joomla! database

My initial thought was to mark all registrants, regardless of rank, as pending and then move them to active as the rankings administrator signs them off.

However, I wondered whether I could use a "pre-requisite event" which essentially would contain only those with a top-64 ranking and would be filled in by the rankings administrator.

Any thoughts or advice gratefully accepted.

Your DT Register license is for a different website so support is not included for this additional site. If you want our help, you'll need to purchase a license for this site. Thanks.

You will notice that I have actually purchased the component twice.

I didn't realise that the forum was the support mechanism, I merely raised a general query. I won't bother in future.

We do show two purchases under your username... one expired over a year ago and was for another site as well. You have one active license and it is for a different site.

This is not THE form of support... tickets are the main support... this is more the community level support, but we still answer questions here for active license holders.

Regarding your question... a prerequisite event would not allow anyone that doesn't fit the prereq requirement to register at all, so I doubt that is the direction for you to go. Working off status settings may be.
