TOPIC: Event registration with discount

I setup a event with the ability for group & individual registrations.
The event is $39 for single / $59 for couple, but if registered by Oct 10th its only $35 / $55.

How can I setup the discount amount correctly for this? If I do a discount of $4 it doubles it for the couples rate ($8 discount), and if I do $2 its not enough for the individual. Is there a simple solution, hopefully not involving a separate event for couples & singles?

Correct, that is how the early bird discount works in a group registration... amount is per member. The upcoming version 2.7 has more flexibility for fee/discount calculations as well as for group registration setups.

If the current setup doesn't work for you, you could maybe use a custom field to apply fee changes... or even disable the early bird discount and just manually change the event price on Oct. 10. It would take about 20 seconds Not ideal, but you'll probably need a bit of a work-around until 2.7 is out in a couple weeks.
