I'm running DT Register 2.6.8 and am having a major issue with changing events from Private to Public.

Per our club's bi-laws, our members have a few days to register for events before the general public. I created about 20 events and set them all to "Private" so our members would be able to register.

48 hours later, I went into every event and changed it to "Public". Out of the 20 events, 12 continued to give a message that it was only available to members - which was incorrect because I switched them to "public".

Of those 12, I was able to delete and recreate 10 of them. The other 2 had people registered for it and continued to say it was only open to members even after being deleted and recreated. I did NOT delete the already registered members because that would have defeated the purpose of having members pre-registered.

Why is this happening and how can I prevent it in the future?
How can I fix the two events that are still not available to the public even though they should be?

Thanks,
Sheri

Hello. Sounds like you have prerequisite items selected. Any event that has any prerequisite events and/or categories selected will force user login... even if it's set to Public. This is mentioned in the tooltips and also the video tutorials. That is one of two features that will force user login. Your events that are still requiring login, go into the settings of that event and un-select any prerequisite items that it sounds like you may have selected accidentally or not knowing what they were. Use CTRL-Click to deselect those items. Then the event can be public.
