If you use the template code, it will make everything that is NOT DT Register go to a non-secure url. As stated in that forum thread, if you need other components to use https, then you do NOT use that code. Use the SSL plugin instead. Definitely do not use both together.

Within the plugin parameters, you can list other components to "ignore". Basically, if you have another component that is setup already through it's own settings to use https, you can tell the DT Register plugin to ignore that component. Say that component is Virtuemart. In the plugin, list:

com_virtuemart

Then the plugin will not make any changes to urls that include com_virtuemart.

Thanks Nathan,

I understand exactly what you are prescribing but none of the suggestions in the forum work.

Nor does the DT Register SSL plugin. We have tried the SSL plugin both with and without DT Register EventLink and have both enabled SSL and disabled SSL in the EventLink plugin.

Four of us, including two Rackspace techs have checked every setting and tried every permutation prescribed in the forums 10 times over.

All the DT provided code is causing a redirect loop or, if we force SSL via Joomla, a failure to submit beyond the First Step User screen in the DT Component.

We have tried older versions of Joomla, no-third party templates, everything. New domains. Triple checked SSL cert installation, etc.

Please contact me when the schedule mellows at DT as I would like to retain DT Services in a PAID capacity to help solve this issue.

Thanks,

Dante

My bet is on a rouge plugin. Disable all 3rd party olivine besides dt ones and try again

@thePiston,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that. In fact now I am only using Joomla 1.5.22, DT Register and JEvents. That's it.

With the DT SSL Plugin enabled I just get an enless redirect loop. If I force SSL via a menu item things work great.

When Nathan and Company get time I need to hire them to go through my setup and their plugin and find a solution. It they don't have time I have to hire a developer to go through this. Something in the code is causing this loop.

This happens if I use either; 1) The DT SSL Plug, OR 2) The Template Code. No difference. Thanks for your input.

Here is a related post to this topic.

@training is receiving the same redirect loop:
