TOPIC: Does template dictate field parameters

No matter how long (wide) I specify my custom fields to be, they all appear the same length. Is my site template causing this issue, or do I need to adjust something in DTR? I would also like to add space between the default fields so they aren't all mushed together. Is it possible to add a default field?

To answer my own question, yes it does! I just assigned a different template to that menu item and it made a big difference.
