We have updated the DT Register package to include this fix now. When installed, it will show as 2.6.8b.

The admin notification email you are referring to is coded to display that way in the last release. If yours doesn't show that way, then you must not have the latest version installed.

Hi Admin...

Thanks for the update. I do have the latest version installed, as the fix you applied is working. However, that email I asked about is not sending with the fees formatted in for some reason. Any ideas?

Also, the component is still listing as 2.6.8a and not 2.6.8b in the component listing under the uninstall menu in joomla. The date is correct too (July 30, 2010), so it is probably just a mistake on the version number.

Note, when I installed the 2.6.8b, i did an uninstall of 2.6.8a first. So, I am not sure if I am missing something here or not. Please let me know.

Jonathan

After a little further research, the email mine sends when an update is made is the "User Panel Change Email" under the Configuration>User Panel options.

That is not the email yours sends, because after comparing the two, your is formatted entirely different. To be honest, yours makes more sense in that it includes the "Original Registration Fee" and the "New Registration Fee." I don't mind being able to edit or add instructions for payments and refunds to that email, so perhaps a merge of the two might make sense.

Let me know what you think.
Jonathan

PS - Below is a copy of what my "User Panel Change Email" looks like and what the actual output email is.

You are comparing two different emails. The email sent to the USER is the one that you configure in the backend. This is the email that you are looking at from your site. The email that you are comparing to is different... it is the email that is sent to the event administrator. This is NOT configured anywhere... it is hard-coded so yours has to be the same as what is seen on the demo site. It makes sense though... on the demo site, you are getting admin emails as YOU created the test event. The actual registrant is a fake email address so you don't get those emails. No issue here... just confusion of emails :)

You are right. My mistake. Good call.

One more question then (I hope). What must I do to get a couple of elements of the admin email included in the email sent to users?

While it might sound nit-picky, if you compare the formatting of the two, the admin email has several elements that are superior as I see it.

- It contains the "Old Registration Fee" and the "New Registration Fee" - we don't have a field selection to show these. Are there field names we could include in our email that would call that data? That information is helpful to my users, in case they already have mailed their check when they make their changes. This helps them to clearly see what they still have to send.

- The layout is much cleaner. There are line breaks between the group members. The Members are numbered properly (i.e., Member 1, Member 2, Member 3, etc.). If you look at the copy of the email sent above, the [GROUP_CUSTOM_FIELDS] are all mashed together and all have the same number. While my example above has only one [CONTACT_CUSTOM_FIELD], I imagine if it had more than one, they would be mashed together the same way.

Is there anything I can do to address these items?

One other feature that would be fantastic, but is not critical now, is if it highlighted changed items in the admin email and the user email in RED (or some other way) so that those changes stood out.

Thanks for your help. Your customer service has been fantastic and I will make sure it is reviewed as such on the Joomla's Extension Site.
