Hi all!

Is there any way with DT Register (on J1.5) to have a category view including a Category description? All of my events are one of 11 different types, and I'd like users to be able to access an overview page with a description and list of the 11 class types, select the type they want, and view a description of that class type along with the table of entries in that class. I can think of two ways to do this, but haven't found a feature that will allow for either.

1) Have a category description displayed within DTRegister, such that when that category filter is applied, the appropriate description is listed. (can't find any such field)
2) Have each category have an associated article in Joomla and embed the category table from DTRegister in the article at the appropriate location (can't figure out how to embed an entire category using the DTReg Plugin)

Can anyone think of another way to accomplish this? Thanks!

Cody - there is no category description in DT Register presently. As a side note, you're not going to get any support from us unless you ask through a user account that has a purchased DT Register license. Thanks.

DTH Admin,

I apologize for not being in an account with the appropriate license tied to it, but the license was purchased by the CEO of the company I maintain the website for, hence the discrepancy in account names. The license was purchased this morning with order #8948, if you have a method of verifying the authenticity of that.

If you are able to provide support based on that, I might be able to elaborate my goal more clearly. The site in question (hosted at http://www.peteducationandtherapy.com ) is an old Joomla 1.0.X site using a free component called AttendEvents (integrated with JEvents) to manage class registration (to see this, click the "Dog Training" link in the main menu). The site is being migrated to Joomla 1.5 (test server accessible at http://www.creatureteacher.com ), and I'm replacing many of the 3rd party addins with better ones (and in some cases, such as here, addins with paid licenses). However, I have not found a way to recreate what I have on the old site without creating an article containing the table of classes within that category with the "Register" link making use of the DTH Register Plugin. But, of course, that require constant maintenance every time a new class is posted or has completed. Is there any way to recreate this feature more automatically with DTH Register?

Best Regards,

The plugin does not generate any category lists of events. It gives a registration button to a specific event.

In moving to DT Register, you will need to setup your new categories, then recreate your events. Check out our video tutorials with helping at getting everything setup.

There is no import tool to pull the events in from Attend Events. After updating JEvents to 1.5.x, you can then create each event in DT Register. The name, date and time is already set in JEvents. DT Register will handle everything else.

Once the events are setup, you can create category menu pages to list events of select categories.
