Heya,

Has anyone seen this error? I've seen it in the past, but had somehow managed to make it go away by either being persistent or doing things in a canonical way (ok, I don't really know how I got around it...) .

Now, however, there's no escaping it.

I add an event to JEvents (1.5.2) with no problem, then head over to DTRegister to copy it from an existing DTRegister Event. When I click the Copy Event button. At the end of the subsequent page load, I get a pop-up box saying, "Error: Could Not Find Target Element". From this error the buttons along the top (Back, Archive, Publish, etc.) don't work. I end up having to flush my cookies and relogin. I've tried creating totally new JEvents and new DTRegister Events but I still get the same thing. To see if it was affecting the whole Joomla site, I went to AcyMailing and was able to compose a new Newsletter and blast it out to my mailing list without this error coming up. After doing the mail action, I went back to DTRegister to try a new event again (using the JEvent that was created without problem) but still got the same error.

Doing some Google searching, it appears this is something to do (maybe?) with TinyMCE as the editor, but I switched my default editor to "No Editor" and still get the same issue.

Anyone have ideas?

Chris, make sure you have the latest DT Register, which will show in your list of installed components as 2.6.7b. If you have anything earlier, that is probably your problem. Also, for the editor, try JCE. That is free and the only editor anyone should ever consider for Joomla... in our opinion.

Heya dthadmin,

Just got finished upgrading to the latest dtregister and installed JCE on your advice, but am still experiencing the same problem.

When I get the "Error: Could not find target element" pop-up error message, I am then unable to use the "Save" or "Apply" buttons on the event I'm trying to modify. I am able to (again) go into AcyMailing and edit a newsletter there on the subsequently loaded webpage without that error, but when I go back to DTRegister I consistently get the message.

Should I open a helpdesk ticket on this?

Cheers!

-Chris

I am getting this same error. If this error was resolved, can someone post the final resolution?

If using the latest DT Register and a good editor like JCE, you should not have this problem. My guess is that you guys are missing a detail... just because you install JCE means nothing. You need to go to the joomla global configuration and set JCE to be your default editor. If you haven't, then DT Register is still using whatever editor you already had in place.

Sorry, I had neglected to mention it, but yes I have set JCE as my default editor in the global Joomla configuration.

I just went through a big batch of events to add and managed to get through them all (including copying the JEvent, adding a New Location in DTRegister, then adding a new Event as well as Copy/Editing 3 more DTRegister events). However, I noticed a typo on the last event and wouldn't you know it -- as soon as I put a check in the checkbox and clicked the Edit button, I get the error message right as the page is about to finish loading. I had added 5 events in DTRegister (1 new, 4 copy/edits) with no problem, but as soon as I hit Edit it acts up.

To give more information about my situation, the DTRegister events are a mix of subcategories (4) and top-level categories (1). I was thinking something about the categorization (in conjunction with editing?) might be triggering the error?
