TOPIC: Customize view

Hello all,

Is there a way to customize the view(s) of DT Register?

I have copied dtregister.php to the directory templates/myTemplate/html/com_dtregister/ but modifying that file has no effect.

I am fairly comfortable with the concept of modifying views - I've modified several other components and modules - but this one doesn't seem to work.

I am using Joomla! version 1.5.15 and DT Register version 2.6.5.

Hello. You certainly can't move that file into your template's directory. Display can be modified in various files... mostly dtregister.php, class.dtregister.php and common.php. This version is not really MVC so you may not be seeing what you expect in the file structure. The upcoming 2.7 will be fully MVC.

There is also a CSS file in /com_dtregister/assets/css/main.css which is the main styling CSS file for the component.

I was hoping to be able to make changes and not have to worry about them being overwritten when updating the component.

Does this mean that I will be able to have update-proof views with 2.7?
