TOPIC: Some custom field data for some registrations are erased

On an event open for registrations, the following is happening to the custom fields for some registrations:

No difference what the registrant has chosen in three different dropdown selections, for some registrants one to three of these dropdown fields have gone blank. Checked in jos_dtregister_user, and yes they are really totally blank (which should not be possible at all as there is a default selection). Going trough the confirmation emails we can of course do a backtrack of what they really did chose and there is no system in when the data gets erased.

I see no other mention of this problem in this forum. Has anyone had this as an issue? We have installing the new bugfixes for DT Reg in the same pace as they have been published. This issue seems to culminate between April the 25th and 29th but there has not been a mention about a bug fix for it?

First, do you have the latest build of 2.6.5 installed? It would be dated April 29, 2010.

Second, sounds like you probably have incorrectly setup selection limits for your fields. Each field value must have a selection limit that applies to it. So if your dropdown has 3 options, your selection limit should be:
0|0|0

That would mean there is no limit to how many people can choose each option as 0 represents unlimited. Use other numbers if you need limits. If selection limits are incorrectly setup, you WILL have issues with those fields.

We will watch he registration records for new instances of this issue, if we find none maybe this has been a temporary disturbance of some sort.
