I have a customer who wants to offer various levels of registration. for instance there are 5 levels of membership, and they want a discount for each different level off the main price.

My thought would be to create 5 discount codes (one for each level of membership). The customer wants a dropdown on the registration form that says "member type" that will pull the values from the discount codes and when the user chooses one and goes to the next step, it will apply the discount code appropriately.

How hard would it be to make the discount code field be a text box that pulled from a list of available choices?

Hello. This can be done already without using discount codes at all. Create the dropdown field (or radio button would work too), and then apply a fee value to each option. This can be a negative value, so based on the user's selection, a set amount can be discounted from the price. If you need further assistance with this, be sure to check out our custom fields video tutorial. No discount code is needed though when using the custom field.
