TOPIC: How do you add a PayPal transaction fee?

Hello,

How do you add a PayPal transaction fee? Can you add a 3% processing fee to the total order when they use PayPal to pay? We sue PayPal and mail in payment so I cant just charge 3% for everybody. Please help.

It's against Paypal terms of service. It's illegal in most states to charge a fee for using credit cards over and above the retail price.

Fortunately, in most of those states, it's perfectly legal to offer a discount for payment by cash or check.

As a workaround, you'll need to use the honor system: add a custom field
"Do you want to pay by cash or check" and have it take the discount.

cash or check price = $10.00
Retail Price: $10.50 ($10.00 / .97 = $10.31 and rounded to the nearest half dollar)
