I'm in the process of setting up DT Register for the first time. (We are migrating our current website to a Joomla based site.)

I have JEvents installed and working properly. I created the event and set it to "public" in JEvents and it does display on the JEvents calendar.

When I go into DT Register, I was able to create the event and set the Event Status to "Public". When I go to my website and attempt to register for this event, I do see the "Register" button but when I click on it I get the following message:

This event requires that you be a logged in member of this website. Please register a user account to gain access to our private events.

My organization is a club that offers dog training classes. All our classes are open to the public however our club members can receive discounts for the class so we DO NOT want the general public to register for our site.

How can I make this event available for public registration?

Thank you,

Hello. If your public event is still forcing the user to login, then you are using a feature that requires login. This would be either:

1) Overlapping Event Check - found in the main configuration area. If this is enabled, all events will require login unless the check is cancelled per event.

2) Prerequisite Check - in each event, there is a place to select a prerequisite event and/or category. If either is selected, the user will have to be logged in... which is how the check would be made. You'll need to de-select any items that are selected there... using CTRL-click.

I am having the same trouble and I have checked the items above as you suggested but it is still taking me to the joomla login screen. Are there other settings that can impact this? I am running 2.6.3. Thx.

mwildwood - there is no way the login will be required unless you have it set that way. Open your event and on the first tab will be two multi-select boxes for prerequisite options. My assumption is that you have a category selected there. De-select (CTRL-click). Also make sure you don't have the event set as Private.

I have a similar problem if I use the register now button from the event from the J events calendar it brings up a login box. I have checked and all the above is set to off, I have also checked the DT register eventlink plugin and that is set to public. This seemed to work fine before I upgraded to 2.6.3. Any advice would be appreceated.

Thanks

Chris

guys... make sure you have the newest version of the EventLink plugin that is packaged with DT Register 2.6.4. In the older version, it is possible if you have multiple menu items related to DT Register and one is registered access, the Register button could use the non-public Itemid. You are possibly having an issue with that...

Besides that, the event will NOT force login unless it is set that way. If you are using the latest version of everything and still can't find the source, submit a ticket with admin access and we'll show you what needs set.
