Hi!

I have spent a bunch of time working with JEvents and DT Register. I think I get how they work together. I like the visual element of the color coding on the JE calendar, JE pop ups and JE Lastest event module.

2 Questions:

1) Since I have installed DT Register my overall system on my wampserver has slowed down a lot. I am wondering if some aspect of the database is doing unnecessary queries? I have two JEvent Calendars one for Community events and the other for Private Events. Each have their own module for legend and minicalendar. I have used JEvents for the color features. Also the DT Register aspect of events is pointed to call up each calendar separately as the events are related to Private or Community.

2)I am using the JEvents Calendar and the Latest Events because I like the color coding that I can give a series of associated events in a broad category.

I can not see any real difference between DT Register Latest Events and the JEvents Lastest Events. They seem to be clickable to the same links. So is DT Register Latest Events plugin not needed.

Also I was getting an error message on my wampserver with the DT Register Latest Events Plugin. I expect this would be taken care of when put live to site.

So I want to understand this idea. Thanks for your help!

Thanks

Hello. We know of no reason why your site speed would have slowed. We'd have to dig into that further. What version are you using of DT Register? The latest is 2.6.3a so if that is not what shows in your list of installed components, then download the latest package and update. That would be the first step.

There is a lot of difference from our Upcoming events module and the one from JEvents. JEvents' module links only to JEvents details. Our module does have the option of linking to JEvents, but also can be set to link right to registration forms. It can also show event price, location and category.

Our module and EventLink plugin are not required. however, the EventLink plugin will automatically add registration buttons inside of JEvents which helps to connect the two systems.

Hi!

What is the best way to utilize the color coding form JEvents with your module, plugin and componet?

I just downloaded the most recent and it was the initial install. I was thinking it was of the way the JEvents or DT Register was connected. But I would only be guessing.

I will try separating them out. And give that a try in the mean time

Thanks

Hi!

It is slow when handling the database updates accross the program. Other wise both live and localhost wampserver seem to be working fine.

Obviously the updates to the database are not simple updates. So I was wondering if there were any prefered system wide parameters that help speed up the process.

We currently have a fast server. In timing the changes my server is actually only slighly faster than my localhost now when updating a program change.

Thanks again,
