I just upgraded Joomla to 1.5 along with the latest DT Register. I get the "register now" link to appear but when clicking on it I get this message:
"This event requires that you be a logged in member of this website. Please register a user account to gain access to our private events."
The event I'm testing with is "public" as well as I'm logged in. I've also tried making it private and not logged in, and different combination but I still get the same message. And, I don't really want or need private events, so these should be available for everyone. Is there something else I should be setting or looking at?
Most likely you have enabled features that require the user to be logged in. If you are using the Overlapping Event check, or have any prerequisite events or categories selected in the event setup, it will force the user to be logged in so those parameters can be applied. If you're not making user login, then disable those features.
Also, make sure you are using the latest EventLink plugin.
I uninstalled the version I had installed. I then downloaded the latest dtregister version - com_dtregister2_6_2b_J15.zip and installed.
I did get this message when installing:
JFolder::create: Path not in open_basedir paths
(NOTE - I just read in another thread, and created the uploads directory. The locations one was there)
But also said:
DT Register component Installed Successfully!
I then installed and published:
plg_dtregister_ssl1_1.zip
cbplug_dtregister_records1_2_2.zip
plug_dtregister2_6_2.zip
I double checked these settings -
Overlapping Event Check: No
Prerequisite Paid Status: No
Prerequisite Attended Status: No
I then attempted to register and get the same message. EVEN when I am logged in.
You didn't check the other item I mentioned... the prerequisite settings INSIDE each event. In the settings for an event, you can select prerequisite events or categories. If you have ANY prerequisite item selected, it will act like a private event.
Thanks again for getting back so quickly. In looking around I couldn't see anything incorrect. So, I created another event and it works okay, and so I just deleted the first two that were not working. Something somewhere must have been set but I wasn't seeing it. The new one works and all seems okay now. Thanks again for you FAST attention as always!
