This "appears" to be javascript / moo menu related.
Has anyone else reported a problem with this?

No one else is reporting an issue with this. Hopefully you are not still using 2.6.2 as stated earlier in this thread. If the checkbox is not working, there is something in your site causing a conflict. Do you have the RokCandy plugin installed? Something like that could be a cause. Or just some java styling in your template maybe.
