TOPIC: Unlimited days with 3 day minimum

I have tried to figure out how to set this up, but I'm at my wits end. I have one event for a hunting website. The event (Turkey season) runs from March 20th to May 15th. Guests may register for this event, but there are some limitations that I don't know how to configure.

*A 3 day minimum stay is required, but they can stay longer than 3 days
*Only 4 guests can be at the campground on any given day.
*The price is $400 per day/per guest with additional options, such as video their stay.

However, on some dates, we will only have room for 2 or 3 guests.

I tried setting up the calendar to accomplish this, but I don't need a certain cut-off date until the end of the season (May 15th). Tech support recommended that I list the days of the week as a custom field. Would that be the correct way to set up the event because on some days, as I mentioned, we'll only have room for 2 guests.

Hello. As you provide the dates as custom field options, you would use selection limits to designate how many times each date can be selected. So if you can only have 2 people on a certain day, you put the limit of 2 on that field option. That is what selection limits are for.

The only thing that you will not be able to accomplish with this setup is the minimum of 3 days.

Would I set that up as checkboxes? What's the purpose of the date field?

Yes, checkboxes. A date field is simply the ability to enter a date by selecting one from a small popup calendar. It is nothing more than a fancy way to type a date into an input box.

OK, let me try this. If guests only check, say 1 or 2 days, is there a way that I can remind them to select a 3 day span? Also, on another event, we're going to offer half day hunts. I guess instead of limiting the dates to 4 people, I would limit them to 8?

There is no way to automatically restrict or remind the user to select 3 days. I'd suggest putting in a "textual" custom field to insert some instructions there and say something about having to do at least 3 days... or your registration will not be processed... or it will be cancelled... whatever.

For your other event, just set the limits to whatever you will accept for that event. You could limit to 8, but you might need setup additional options for which half of the day... don't know if that matters or not. Just think it through and setup whatever makes the most sense for that event.
