is there a way to have a paypal subscription fee automatically drafted when the customer signs up through dt register?

the program has a monthly fee and we were opening it wouldnt have to be done as a second step after signing up...

You could add the fee through a custom field that you make required. However, keep in mind that PayPal policy says that you are not allowed to collect fees to cover your paypal fees. There are a couple exceptions, but in most cases, you are not supposed to do that.

i apologize, i did not clarify..

instead of the customer checking out by only paying a 1 time fee. Is there a way to make that fee re-occurring for say 12 months?

DT Register does not currently support recurring payments or subscriptions. DT Donate does, but it is not tied to DT Register at all.
