I bought DT Register a couple days ago and went through most of your tutorial vids but I didn't see this issue addressed...
I have a 7k Run that I want people to register online for. This part is all fine and got it to work. The fee for this event includes a t-shirt which I was able to successfully set up however we would also like the ability to allow the participant to purchase other t-shirt(s) for a fee if they wish.
I figured I could just set up the various sizes via checkbox but this allows the person to buy only one size of each or mix and match how they wish.
Do you have a creative solution that allows participants to choose say 3 or 4 t-shirts of the same size if they desired? I think of an online cart whereby you can change the quantity textbox.
This can be done, but slightly different than you are thinking. DT Register is not a shopping cart... as we do not believe event registration SHOULD be like a shopping cart. However, for an option like this, I would suggest creating multiple dropdown custom fields where the user can choose a number of shirts of a set size, type or whatever you want. You then set the appropriate fee to each value in the dropdown. So, if they select 3, then they get the cost for 3 of that shirt. Make sense?
Thank you for posting back. So If I understand correctly you're suggesting making a dropdown for each shirt size and populate the fields with a series of numbers representing the quantity they want to order?
For instance I would make one dropdown labeled 'x-large' and feature a dropdown with say the values 1 - 10. I would then correlate the fees to reflect the totals depending on how many are chosen. I would then do the same steps for large, medium and small sizes?
