We already answered your support ticket... but since you did a duplicate support request here, we'll answer for the sake of others reading...
There is not a manner for doing group registration without prompting for details on each member. HOWEVER...
You should set it for just Individual registration so the individual / group choice is skipped. Then, create a custom fee field for "Number of Students". If you need the cost to be based on how many kids are registered, that can easily be done with the custom fee field. You could also make a textarea custom field for typing in student names or whatever you might need.
Be sure to watch our custom fields video tutorial to see how they work and help you sort out the best way to proceed. Hope that helps.
Hi I also have the same question. I have submitted a ticket and await your reply.
We are setting up a registration system for an observatory and the client desperatly wants the system to be as simple as possible. She dislikes that the current group registrations make clients enter group information for each individual person going. They register lots of school groups and elderly groups etc
but our problem is that the client still needs to limit the amount of people that can attend events and also needs to be able to see how many have registerd but using the current individual method stops this from working.. Is there anyway of having the group registration options be displayed just like what I have created in the link above (on one page with drop downs) instead of a page per person, or somehow creating a silent custom field that updates the number of people going field in the groups so that the register gets updated with the correct amount of people.
We are willing to pay to get these modifications done as the client is desperate now as we have been trying to get this set up for a few months now.
Please let me know if this is possible and how much it would cost in Australian Dollars so that I can ask the client before going ahead.
I raised the original question. I agree that the solution proposed was not ideal, as you cannot limit the number of registrants. This is quite fundamental if you want some sort of automated system.
I have decided not to use DTRegister in this situation as it is not up to the job (sorry developers...) I am surprised that this has not been dealt with before as it would seem a fundamental requirement, especially for school type applications.
Out of interest what solution did you end up using? I think I will have to look else where as my clients are insiting that they need all of the features of a group booking but without having to enter details in for every individual.
Everything else about this product is awesome. Its a real shame that I will have to find something else.
