TOPIC: 2.5.1 - Wrong Dates Showing on Registration Page

I have logged this as a support ticket, but...

Joomla 1.5.9
JEvents 1.5RC
DT Register 2.5.1, migrated from 2.4.3
Server time is supposed to be UTC -8 (USA Eastern Time)
Local time is GMT+10 (Sydney Australia)
Joomla Global Configuration Timezone set at GMT +10 (otherwise article publish date is incorrect)

I have setup the event correctly in JEvents, with the time (2009-05-23 19:00:00) but when looking at the DT Register Event Registration page it shows:24-05-2009

Compare this to another event, where it is setup in JEvents for 2009-05-23 12:00:00 (ie 7 hours earlier) and when looking at the DT Register Event Registration page it shows:23-05-2009

To me this looks like a timezone issue, and although I raised a support ticket and followed up and posted (all when it was under 2.4.3 and not really urgent), no reply has been given. Now it is a serious issue as people can't even choose the correct event to register for.

Any solutions?

OK, because it is now in the middle of the night here, I decided to try some different settings and have found the solution.

The Joomla Global Settings needs to be set at the same time as the server time. I have tested this with 2 JEvents, one starting at 2009-05-09 00:01 and one starting at 2009-05-09 23:59 on the same day. Now the DT Register Registration Page shows both starting at 2009-05-09.

However this has 2 drawbacks:
1) Article publish/edit dates are incorrect (not a DT Development problem)
2) Cutoff dates/times for DT Register are incorrect for my timezone - my guess is that certain events will no longer show on the page, the late-fees are applied at the wrong time, the cutoff dates are incorrectly applied...

Any solutions to this?

I'm having the same problem. I have my cut-off date as 3-22-2010, but on the Event Registration page, the end date shows up as 3-23-2010. Is there a solution to this problem?

southga1974 - Unfortunately you hijacked a very old thread that does not apply to your question. The cut-off date and the end date are two totally different things. The start and end date of the event comes from JEvents... the actual dates of the event. In DT Register, the Start Date is the date that registration opens. The Cut-Off date is the date that registration closes... not when the event is over.
