I'm looking for a way to restrict registrations in DTR by specific user groups.

Our site is a membership driven nonprofit, using DTR, CB1.2.x and AEC, among other components. When a registered user becomes a supporting member, AEC changes their permissions to 'author' in Joomla.

What we want to do here is to offer members only the opportunity to register for certain events while restricting registration from others. Or at the least prohibit registrations to the general public until members have a crack at it first for a period of time.

Is this possible? I tried using the 'special' status in JEvents, to no avail, and there doesn't seem to be any discrimination in DTR to filter out based on Joomla group.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello. DT Register does not currently filter by joomla user group specifically, however you CAN designate it is a Public or Private event. If it is Private, then a guest user will see the event still in your list of events, but if they try to register, they will get a message telling them that they don't have access. You can customize this message and also use HTML... so you could link them to a sign up page or something.
