I\'ve had this issue open on several tickets in the support area for months.
When I process a credit card that I know works, I get a message saying \"Your payment attempt has been declined. Reason: \". NO reason listed. I checked Authorize.net and the attempt/decline isn\'t even recorded there so I know the issue is on the DT Register side. However, the issue only happens with PAID registrations. FREE events work fine.
No one seems to be responding to my inquiries. I have upgraded with each release (3 in the last 60 or so days) to no avail.
I believe in this product but \'09 is here and I cannot wait any longer to launch my website. I may have to look for other solutions. Please help me someone.
i put in a ticket for this months ago, they told me my authorize.net was configured incorrectly, but gave absolutely no suggestions on what the settings SHOULD be, and as you can see, no one has ever replied to this post either. I have never been able to get this component to work, and now I wish I had never bought it. It was a waste of my money. Maybe someday I will try to figure it out myself, but the people at dht development are of absolutely no help to me.
We dug through with a user having this issue and found the reason. It came down to the PHP configuration not having everything in place that was needed. CURL must be enabled, BUT you must also have SSL enabled for curl. Check your PHP config by going to System Info in the Joomla admin. Search for \"curl\" (no quotes) and you should come across these items:
In \"Configure Command\", you should see:
\'--with-curl=/opt/curlssl/\'
In the \"curl\" area, you should see:
cURL support: enabled
cURL Information: libcurl/7.19.0 OpenSSL/0.9.7a zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.5.6
Your config may not be EXACT to this, but you must have the ssl options enabled. If you do not see them, contact your host and ask them to enable that.
As a part of this, we did make a few tweaks to DT Register itself which were included in the last release. Still, if PHP is not correct, it still will not work. So check your curl settings and also make sure you are running 2.3.7 of DT Register.
I have been experiencing this error as well. The curl/ssl information is set up exactly as described in this post, my authorize.net information works just fine in VirtueMart, and I have installed 2.3.7. Still getting \"Your payment attempt has been declined\" with no reason given. This is holding up registration for our primary conference this year.
For what it\'s worth, when I delete the Authorize.net information, I get a registration fail with the appropriate \"merchant API login ID is invalid\" message.
