Is there a way that we can create an option to allow discount codes to override the fee fields. I would like to have the option for it to work both ways as there are needs for both of them.

Scenario 1 (The way it set up now): I have the discount code set for 100% and have fee fields for a shirt option for $10. I would like to be able to have 100% off the registration but still charge them the $10 for the shirt option. This is the way it is set-up now and I like that aspect.

Scenario 2 (The way I would like to be added): I have registration set-up for two races at one event, a half-marathon and 5K. Thus I have a fee field when they select which race they are participating in and the event registration cost is set to $0.00 because the price of each race is different and thus a fee field is in order. There are no other fee fields. I would like the discount code to override the fee fields for this event (in this case) so that I can give someone free entry, sponsor entry or just to test the event registration to make sure it works. This option is currently unavailable or I cannot find it, and I have other instances where I would like it to override fee fields even where there is a set event registration.

Is there a way that we can work together to make this option available? I think it may be best served to have a check box in the discount code editor where you can check it to "override all fee fields" or uncheck it to have fee fields override it. This is my third event in the past two months where this has occurred and is starting to become more of a prevalent issue. Thank you.

Hello. Fortunately for you, the needed functionality is already there! :) In the list of events in the backend events management, you'll see a link to the right "Fee Ordering". Click this link for any event and you'll see a list of ANYTHING that could be included in calculation of pricing for the event... including every fee field, discount code, taxes, etc. YOU can drag-n-drop the items to order as needed so your discount code will be applied exactly where you want it to be.
