Ok, here are my problems... (all are regarding group registration)

If you click on the attendee list, it does NOT show all of the group members! It is only showing the records of the persons who registered the entire group! (for our event the hotel is not to rent rooms to people who have not registered for the event first - so we were going to use the attendee list for hotel staff to check against)

This is also screwed up in the backend under records! How is the person checking people into the event supposed to confirm the ticket?!? This is also the case if you use the search on the records screen for the name of a person registered under a group.

Why does the billing person also receive the same confirmation email as the attendees? Shouldn't that be formatted separately so you can just say "thanks for paying for attendees x,y,z,etc.?"

Also, the first registrant is assigned the same confirmation number as the billing contact!

Why does the billing contact even get a confirmation number if he isn't also attending the event!

Since our confirmation email is formatted as an eTicket, we are basically sending out a free ticket to the person registering the group even if he isnt attending.

Lastly, wouldn't it make alot of sense to have to option during the billing screen to check a box or select a dropdown to use the same info as one of the event registrants?

If I'm not able to sort out all of these problems I am going to have to set registration to individual only, which is a huge inconvenience to our guests.

Thanks.

Much of what you are having "issues" with seems to just be an expectation of things working differently than they do. Here's some clarification...

1) The attendee's list CAN show the group members, but you have to enable the expansion of group members in the configuration View Registrants tab.

2) A group registration in the backend records will show a link towards the right side of the record details like "3 Members". Click that link to see the group members. Each field also has a checkbox to enable if it is to be shown in that list of group members info (just like the attendee's list does). The search in the records does not include group members at this time. We are aware. The present setup is how it's always been. While it has been much improved over time, we do intend on better integrating group members into the main records listing soon.

3) Each group member has their own confirmation number if you configure it that way. When this is done, the group as a whole (billing) uses the same confirmation number as the first member. This is on purpose. The billing contact is NOT an actual registrant... so they should not have a different number.

4) Same email is sent, yes... however the content will vary some based on the tags used. There is not a method of sending a completely separate message though between billing and group members.

5) Checkbox to use billing info based on a group member is something we will consider for future development.

Hi, thanks for the response.

That helps, seems there is still a bit of usability issues but It looks like I can make that work.

I almost abandoned ship and went a purchased Event Espresso for wordpress, but that has its issues as well (no unique confirmation numbers, attendee list shows people who have completed registration but not payment - however they have working qr codes and an iphone and droid apps, which is awesome)

Now I've been trying to figure out the best format for the confirmation email tags / eticket.

How would i format the tags so that on the ticket it displayed like: (to help differentiate between purchaser and attendee)

==========================================
Ticket Purchaser: (billing contact)
Billing Confirmation: (billing confirmation number)

Attendee Information:(only for the attendee at this email address, not all attendee's)
Attendee Confirmation:(unique attendee confirmation number)
Attendee barcode:(unique attendee barcode)
==========================================

Thanks for your help.

Again, the email is the same format for the billing and group members. Here's more info that may help you out:

Any contact tags like [FIRSTNAME], , etc will populate based on who receives it. So the billing person will see his/her info in those tags. The registrants will their own info... not the billing. This applies to the confirmation number also. Anything put inside of the {GROUP_MEMBER} tag will show the billing person all included details for EVERY group member. However, the registrant would only see their own info from inside of that tag.[EMAIL], etc will populate based on who receives it. So the billing person will see his/her info in those tags. The registrants will their own info... not the billing.

This applies to the confirmation number also.

Anything put inside of the {GROUP_MEMBER} tag will show the billing person all included details for EVERY group member. However, the registrant would only see their own info from inside of that tag.
