how can I set the SSL plugin to utilize the main site ssl
- as in
https://primarysite.com/Registration_site/dtregister

if I type it manually it works properly, but I don't know how to tell the plugin or format the alternate code in the "Setting up DT Register with SSL" sticky here in the forum.

If you are using our SSL plugin, you don't need to do anything special. If you are using the code in the template, that's different. You do NOT use the added SSL code in the template AND the SSL plugin. It's one or the other. The plugin should be used unless it causes a conflict with SSL for another extension that also needs it.

I know it's an either or situation.

Because the site that dtregister is installed on is an addon domain, the SSL will only apply if the full path is used so
https://Registration_site.com - goes to https://Primary_site.com

but the url below works fine
https://Primary_site.com/registration_s ... eventId=27

what do I add where to get this going?

Looks like I'm going to have to resurrect this thread from the dead, because I just came across the same issue.

The site I need to enable SSL for is aliased as a subdomain ('addon' domain) of another. IOW, the SSL is attached to mysite.com, but I need to enable secure registrations for addondomain.mysite.com for DTRegister. When I enable the SSL plugin, Firefox pops up a warning about the site being an untrusted connection.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

hammerhead - this is not a DT Register plugin issue. We can't control what gets validated by your SSL certificate. What you need to do is either:

1) Get an additional SSL certificate for the subdomain (suggested), or

2) Get a "wildcard" certificate that will include any variation of your main domain name... so this and any other subdomains you have or will have.
