Hello,

Would installing a caching plugin negatively affect DT Register?

We received an email from our sever administrator that we have been experiencing an increased resource usage that may lead to the suspension of our account in order to stabilize their server.

They have recommended that we install a caching plugin which would "allow the system to generate HTML versions of the pages which will be displayed to your visitors on a schedule instead of generating a new copy every time the page is loaded."

They recommended we install JotCache and have full caching enabled.( http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... ache/13155 ) but we are concerned that this may affect the registration process in some negative way.

Can anyone please advise if this is a good or bad idea? Thanks!

Generally, we find it best to NOT use any cache plugins. However, do some people use them without issue? Yes. We have also seen them cause issues before too. All I can tell you is to try it. We've never tested with that actual plugin. If you can still get through a registration process without any weird cached redirects, then go for it. But if it causes any issues, you'll have to get rid of it.
