I have a problem with the email field that is not validated. Regardless of whether I choose to enable confirmation field or not, you can not go on in the registration because the email field will not be approved.

In addition, I get two error messages in frontend "Could not Initiate mail function" and "No valid database connection".
Running Joomla 1.5.23 and DT Register 2.7.8.
Please help!

This definitely sounds like a setup issue. First, are you using the default installed "email" field? It is required. If you unpublished or deleted that and are using instead your own created email field that has a different database name, then you will have problems. Make sure you are using the field where the name is exactly "email". The field label doesn't matter... but the name does. Beyond that, if you still need help, you'll need to log a ticket so we can check the rest of your setup.

Yes, I did in fact use the default field for email with a confirmation field. But the first field is not validated (by the character "V"), however, the second (confirmation) field was OK with "V", but it became impossible to complete the registration because of the first field.

In order to be able to receive registrations, I created a plain text field for email instead, but then of course, unfortunately no confirmation email are sent.

I have created a ticket for this issue ten days ago and hopes you can help me solve this! Thanks!

FIXED! Found the problem with "No valid database connection", Updated Joom!Fish and the content elements for DT register. And now the email validation works! Finally!
