Can non-site members not sign up for an event? Without registering on the site first? Every time a guest tries to register for an event, they're directed to a membership sign up page (CBSubs).

Of course public users can register! :) If your event is requiring someone to login, it's because you have it setup that way. Three things to cause that:

1) The event is set as private instead of public

2) Overlapping Event Check is enabled in the main DT Reg configuration. As stated in tooltips and video tutorials, this feature will make ALL events require login.

3) Prerequisite Events or Categories. In the event, if you select any prerequisite item, this event will require login. Again, stated in tooltips and videos.

One of those three will be the source of your login requirement. Thanks.

I've checked all those settings and they are good.

Have narrowed down to this:

In the article of the event, at the bottom are the 2 buttons that are automatically inserted to view all events and register for the event. It's when I click on those that it takes me to the site registration/login page.

However, if I go to index.php?option=com_dtregister and then click on the Register button, it works.

Looks like the Register link in an article is:
index.php?option=com_dtregister&eventId=7&Itemid=364&task=register&conroller=event

But it should be:
index.php?option=com_dtregister&Itemid=0&eventId=7&controller=event&task=individualRegister

I just changed in the url bar ItemID=0 and it works. So itemID=364 is the culprit.... hmmmmm.......

I solved the same problem (special permission itemId being sent by plugin link mysteriously), by upgrading to version 2.7.9 (from 2.7. 8) .

I am so glad not to have to bug Nathan about this!
