TOPIC: Beyond Joomla 1.5.....

Can I have a super quick update on the current status of DTReg beyond Joomla 1.5?

Now that Joomla 1.7 is with us - I feel I have to upgrade from Joomla 1.6.5 quickly as it's a security release....

But, after months of having a core site on J1.6 whilst maintaining a J1.5 web purely for DTReg...... it would be ironic, and just my luck, if the day I move to J1.7 you bring out a J1.6 only version of DTReg.....

Is the plan now to skip J1.6 entirely and for the next DTReg to be 1.7 compatible? or are you looking at first J1.6 and then J1.7 after that???? As always any kind of estimated timescale and progress report is hugely sought after and appreciated!

Yes, we are going to release a 1.6 version still as we still feel many will need it. Besides, it's a large step towards making a 1.7 version (and beyond) also. Any changes that will need made from 1.6 to 1.7 should be very minimal, so a 1.7 version should follow pretty quickly.

At this point, we are shooting to have the 1.6 version out by the end of next week. It's getting very close. We know it's taken more time that we or anyone else would have liked, but it's nearly ready. Thanks to everyone for your patience.
