TOPIC: Payment Before Registering

Here's a thought, would it be possible to have someone on DT Register to pay first and THEN fill out the registration information?

The idea is to get them to pay upfront in what could likely be a long registration period where they can get cold feet and suddenly stop registering. I'm interested in getting them to pay before doing anything else.

There is not a way to do this without significant code changes. The setup is this way on purpose as most people have forms that calculate the price so that is required prior to making payment. The only thought I have if you are really concerned about this is that you could make an event that is only for payment... just gather the very basic details and get the money. Then they can go through a 2nd registration form for the full details... set the 2nd event with a prerequisite of the "payment event"... so the user can't fill out the full registration until they've first registered and paid in the "pay event". Does that make sense? That may or may not be a feasable plan... just an idea to consider.
