With our pre 2.7x versions, users could enter the event with a partial payment and edit their information. Currently, with 2.73c, they can not edit their information in any way without being sent to paypal. This does not change if we change their status to "paid" in the backend. If we manually enter in the amount paid to end up with a 0.00 balance, this shows up as a zero balance but results in a fatal error:
" Fatal error: Call to a member function parsetags() on a non-object in /administrator/components/com_dtregister/models/user.php on line 1066"

What is the point of partial payments if there is now way for the user to edit any information once entered in the event? I have not tested paying through Paypal but there is no way to mail in a payment that I have found that gives the user the option of editing their registration like before. Thoughts?

Not sure if this helps but you need to make sure that the user is assigned to their registered event record. If left blank, there will be an error when they try to update their info or make another payment.

To make this happen automatically, I moved the email field to the top of the registration and activated auto Joomla User registration. If the person is already a registered user the email will alert the user to login first before continuing. That action creates the link to the username.

If the person is not already registered, then further down the form they create their username and password. Now, you have the user assigned to the registration record. See snapshot here:

Unfortunately, the user does seem to be assigned properly.

Thanks for the tip!

Im having the same issues. You can not edit or cancel an event since the update to 2.7.3c_J15 please help. We are also receiving duplicate random registrations and it seems the registration codes are not auto filling the database in the back end.

While I don't understand the logic of forcing registrants to Paypal if they try to change any entry, I'm pretty sure there should be no error messages. We are supposed to go live by April 15th and there seems to be way too many bugs to work with in 2.7.x so far.

I've found that trying to edit a registration which does not involve any change fees results in the above error messages (Call to member function parsetags). This is even with a user that is assigned properly to the event.

If there are change fees, then the edit proceeds properly and takes you to the payment page. The one issue with that process is that the page where you confirm your information shows the Event Price again along with the Change Fee but no mention of original payment so it looks as though you are paying for the event again. Only when you get to the actual paypal screen does it show that the only charge is the Change Fee... very confusing to end user.
