TOPIC: Maximum length characters

I need to limit the number of characters that can be entered into Text fields. For some reason, even if I set the Maximum Length in the backend, it will still allow me to keep typing and entering characters beyond the limit set. Also, the same applies with Textarea fields. Even if I put the Show Character Count to Yes, this doesn't display or limit the number of characters entered. I am more concerned with the text field limit more than anything at this time, but I would like both items to work correctly.

I am running the latest version of DT Register, version 2.7.3a . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You guys are great! The Text field works exactly as it should now! Thanks. However, I noticed that the Textarea field no longer shows up on the form. I updated to 2.7.3b and tried all settings in both ie and firefox - however, textarea fields will not appear at all in the form now - the hidden field is set to no, so that is not the issue. Please let me know if this part can be resolved in the next fix so textarea fields will appear and limit characters as the text fields do. Thanks!
