Hi, just bought DT Register, but having a few issues trying to install the package emailed out (v2.7.3).

I first unzipped the attachment from the email, then tried the standard upload install of com_dtregister2_7_3a_J15.zip

This gave me a page full of the same error messages:

"Warning: zip_entry_read() [function.zip-entry-read]: The bytes parameter must greater then zero in /home/******/public_html/******/libraries/joomla/filesystem/archive/zip.php on line 238"

And a single message at the bottom of the page:
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/******/public_html/******/administrator/components/com_dtregister/lib/dtmodel.php on line 31

DTRegister then showed in the Components list, but with no details & trying to start it gave the parse error again.

I then uninstalled - with the error about tables having to be manually deleted (which I did not do).

Next attempt was to unzip com_dtregister2_7_3a_J15.zip & ftp the 3 folders & .xml file up to a tmp directory & "install from directory" which I read about where someone was having timeout issues, but I'm still getting the same errors.

Could anyone point me in the right direction of how to fix this? I'm not real flash with code, so I can find where the errors are pointing to, but don't know what to do when I get there. Oh & I haven't logged a ticket yet :)

PS - Joomla running version 1.5.22

Sorry you are having this issue. Please check the following:
- should be running PHP 5.2 or later
- php upload_max_filesize should be larger than 2M
- php max_execution_time try increasing this to 60 or more if it is less

If you still have no luck, submit a ticket and we'll assist further.

Ahh thankyou! I think it was the PHP version.
I could find where to change it in cPanel, but didn't find the current setting anywhere. Anyway, changed it to PHP 5.2.9 (which was listed as the system default), then tried install from directory, which says Install Component Success.

It did give an error about a couple of folders already existing, but I was expecting something like that from my previous install attempts.

Looks like I'm up & running :D
