Like the title says. But, I'll elaborate...

I figure I'll post this here in case someone else has posted a ticket on this and has an answer. Here's what's happend so far:

1.Fresh install on development server (1st installation): Got multiple makedir & chmod errors. One notice on installation screen stating to make one images folder and chmod. Did that and checked forum for the current problem and found out that there was another folder missing (2 errors resolved).

1a. Search forum (no answers)

2. Tried to configure component: Internet explorer freezes permently until I end processes in task manager.

2a. Search forum & FAQ's (no answers)

3. Uninstalled main component and reinstalled. No errors this time, but after checking images folder on the server I saw that there were more folders in the images folder that did not get installed before (Ok, so far so good).

4. Click configuration tab, Internet explorer freezes up permently until I end the processes in task manager.

4a. Search forum & FAQ's (no answers)

5. Decide to try other configuration tabs in DT register: some work, and others work after waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and then a complete freeze again.

6. End the processes in task manager and crash IE8 one more time.

6a. Post forum message

Fortunetly I can do the configuration in Firefox, but my client uses Internet explorer and I can't hand off the site telling her she has to switch to Firefox.

If the component crashes on configuration, what's going to happen when someone tries to register or do something else on the front end? I'm afraid to find out, but if anyone knows please let me know.

So, can anyone help me with this issue?
Thanks

More details:

Rochen hosting
Joomla 1.5.22.
DTRegister 2.7.3.a

Your initial ftp error messages would have been from the failed attempt to create the 4 folders dtregister creates in the core Joomla /images directory. Probably due to permissions, it was able to create them. No big deal, sounds like you sorted that one out.

I believe your issue is probably due to the WYSIWYG editor. This is used in Configuration and Event Management, which is why you can't open those it seems. What editor are you using? Also, what version of PHP are you running?

Hello, thanks for the quick reply.
I'm using JCE & Rochen hosting always has the latest, or best version of PHP for Joomla, but its 5.2.16.
I did change the editor to "No Editor" and no longer had any problems with the configuration or events management freezing up. I also tried the Joomla default editor "TinyMCE 2.0" and had no problems with the configuration or events management freezing up.
I made sure I added plenty of keywords related to this issue so anyone else who is having this problem will find this post, and the answer. If you are a moderator and have a solved threads sub forum, you can go ahead and move this post there.
Thanks again for the quick and correct answer.

By the way, this component is exactly what the client needed and although I did have to do the configuration in Fitrefox loast night (before getting your solution), it went quickly and smoothly.
It only took me a couple of hours to configure and publish an event from configuration to finish, and all the categories are ready to accept events too. Very nice! I will be reccommending this component to future clients that need this functionality. :D

Yeah, issue was tied to the editor. However, I've never heard of someone having an issue when using JCE. Out of curiousity, what version of JCE are you using? Surprised to hear that. Figured you have the CK (or FCK) editor installed, which is garbage and troublesome. Anyway, glad you got things sorted. If you need further help with that, submit a ticket and let us know.

Recommending to other users and clients is appreciated, as is a nice review on the JED ;) Thanks.
