is there any summary page, where the user can review all the options and the total amount to be paid, before entering credit card information?

Yes, there is a confirmation page in all registrations. In configuration, you can enable "Show Fee Breakdown on Confirmation Page" and it will show all fees/discounts included in the total price.

Thanks for the fast response, but unfotunately the summary page not comes up, at least not before the 'payment' page, so the registrant don't know the amount of charge and he may not press 'Submit'.

Our 'fantastic' custom template caused the problem as DTH team pointed out.
