Hey everyone,

Can anybody please describe how waiting lists work with payment in DT Register? I don't really understand how this feature works with payments and such.

Thanks for your help

Waiting list will allow someone to go through the actual registration process to calculate what would be due, but then mark the record with a status of "Waiting" and not collect any payment. Once space is available, you can manually change their status to "Pending" or "Active". Then they can be directed to the User Panel (you could provide this link in the Status Change Email) where they can make payment for their record.

To use the User Panel, you'll need to make sure that users either are forced to login prior to registering or they create a login account during registration. Thanks.

Ok thank you. Is there anyway to allow them to pay then refund them if they are not admitted. We are using dtregister in development of 2 projects rights now and both clients requested this same feature as to put the control and money into there hands.

Speaking of refunds a second question. How do refunds work with paypal. I can understand it would just refund them if you are using something like authorize.net since it has direct account access however i am not sure how this would work with paypal?

Great work on a such a great extension. Last time tried using dt register was a few years ago when it was a jevents hack of sorts. I was pleasantly surprised to see how far it has come. I can really tell how much time and effort was put into it. It really blows all other event reg ext's out of the water.

You need to not use a waiting list then. You can't do a waiting list registration AND pay. So just do a regular registration... in configuration, set fully paid registrations to be created with a status of "Pending". Then users can register and pay, then the admin will be able to change the records to "Active" manually.

For refunds, DT Register does not process any... on purpose. You'll have to manually refund people whenever that is needed.

Glad you are liking the new DT Register. The next package (2.7.3) is even better! I do agree... it wipes out any other extension! Make sure you take a minute to post a review about it on the JED. It'd be much appreciated. Thanks.

Will do on the JED.

As for refunds so when it asks for refund settings or cancellations does it just mark it as so and then the admin has to manually go and do the refund? sounds like this is the case no matter what payment processor?

Correct. The refund setting is for the user panel when users cancel their own registrations. If you enable the calculation of refunds, it will modify the amount due and will notify that a refund is due. The backend record will show the amount due as a negative value since you actually owe the user money. But, yes, no matter what the payment method is, no refunds are automatically processed.
