Hi Everyone:

I am running version 2.7.2 of DT Reg. Everything seemed okay, then today I'm finding that attempting to register for a simple, free, public event is taking the user to a login page. This makes no sense at all. The event is public and is current and open for registration.

Just as a test, I logged in and was then presented with a choice of individual or group registration. This too is bogus because the event has already marked individual only. Then when I selected individual and submitted it, I was taken to a blank page.

One initial thought was that this problem was a result due to this event being one of a group of repeating events some of which were unpublished. I disproved this by publishing all of the repeating events but the problem remains. There is nothing I can see that would convince Joomla that this reg page should only be visible to registered users.

Also, none of these issues were present before with 2.7.1c. I hope we are not going backwards and introducing new bugs into the system while fixing others.

I'm going to do an experiment tonight and create a brand new event to see if the reg page works correctly with it. PLEASE, post help with this ASAP. I need to start processing registrations for my Feb 5th teleclass.

I just noticed that v2.7.2b has just been posted so I will install it tonight to see if it resolves this issue. I will report in on result. All comments and suggestions appreciated.

Sincerely,
Howard

I'm happy to report that this problem has been solved with the new release of 2.7.2b. I don't know if it was just a matter of re-installing the component or whether there was actually a bug that got fixed. Anyways this is a relief. :)

Also happy to see that calendar is functioning better and going to the current date. Not sure why we still don't have the month at the top above the calendar in large letters. Is this a really difficult thing to program or is it just that the dev team has so many other urgent priorities?

One more question. How can I change the wording right at the top of the registration form? It says "Registration: Event name" in tiny letters with form right immediately underneath it with no spacing. This is unattractive and unappealing. :roll:

I much prefer a nice bold header with a line separation and then the reg form. This is fundamental aesthetics that seems should be basic to the component.

Sincerely,
Howard

Not sure what happened, but there was never any such bug. Either you used a bad link or just had some weird data issue. Anyway, glad the reinstall fixed things for you.

Regarding your other points...

- the large calendar month name at the top was fixed a couple releases ago. I have no idea why you'd be seeing anything different. You can see it on our demo site here:
http://joomlaeventregistration.com/index.php?option=com_dtregister&task=calendar&controller=calendar&showby=1&calview=month&Itemid=13&lang=en

- the wording at the top of the registration form is styled by your template... not DT Register. You need to address it there. Look for something like this:
.componentheading or div.componentheading

Hi Nathan:

In your demo site link, I saw Undefined NaN at first and had to click on today for it to come to the present. On my site, it does show January immediately.

We may have a semantics or perceptual difference regarding what it means to have the Month name at the top of the Calendar. What I'm referring to is this:

January (centered on page)

[note space here between name of month above and calendar dates below]
=====================================================================

Dates on Calendar here
=====================================================================

Dates on Calendar here
=====================================================================

Note that the month name is completely separate and ABOVE the block of dates in the actual calendar. If you have ever seen a wall calendar where you flip the pages for each subsequent month, this is what it looks like.

The DT Register calendar so far has the month name January, inside the frame of calendar dates, not above it. This looks odd to me and unprofessional.

Am I being clear here what I mean? Others reading this, please help me out. If a calendar on a website is displayed for the public, it needs to look attractive and be consistent with what most people consider a monthly calendar.

I realize that from a programming standpoint, this may still be a low priority but it does matter and in my view, deserves to be fixed.

Sincerely,
Howard
