not quite impressive with the documentation of DT register. have to type here to look for help.

my problems is that after install v2.7.0, and create event from back end, no events showed up in the front end after creating menu followed the post "Creating a DT Register menu item in Joomla 1.5 "

Question regarding step 3 and 4 of post "Creating a DT Register menu item in Joomla 1.5 "

3) You'll see DT Register in the list of components. Click on it.
4) Give the new menu item a Title, then make any other parameter changes according to your needs... IF any other changes even need to be made.

after click DT Register components from the list, there are 6 sub components. which one should be selected? for testing purpose, I selected "list of events" , menu was created.

went to front end and cliked the new created menu. it showed "There are currently no events setup for registration". which is quite confusing, as all events has been published.

Check and make sure your categories are published... and check the access level of the categories too. If you can't figure it out, submit a ticket please. The problem is that categories were not published.

Yes, it seems that after upgrading, categories remain unpublished and you need to manually publish them.
