Hello.

I am writing as I am able to install 2.6.9 Install with success but I do get jftp errors:

However, when I install version com_dtregister2_7_1c_J15.zip I get the following error message and DT Register will not install:

I still get this error after I completely uninstall 2.6.9 Install and try and reinstall com_dtregister2_7_1c_J15.zip

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I ran into this exact problem. It turns out that the new package is SLIGHTLY (7kb or 55kb depending on what it is calling a MB) over 2 MB. Check your PHP settings and set it above 2M. Depending on your provider, it may be something you can edit through cPanel or you may have to tweak the php.ini...

If you're on Hostgator, the default was 2M and I first had a problem with 2.7.1. It was an easy fix though.

They could probably take out a graphic or something to get it to fit, but setting your max size to 8MB will give DTRegister room to grow, and other apps will be easier to install as well.

James is right... here are some more details for anyone running into issues like this:

The restricted php setting is:

upload_max_filesize = 2M

The DT Register install package is just over 2MB so this is not being allowed. You should have your host increase this php setting... it should be higher anyway.

If you can't do this, then try to install using the Install From Directory option:

- unzip the com_dtregister2_7_1c_J15.zip install package. You'll then have 3 folders and one .xml file.
- via FTP, copy these folders and file to /tmp/dtregister. Create this directory. Dump the unzipped package there.
- go to the Joomla installer area and go to the middle section that says Install from Directory. Put in this directory location:
/your_joomla_location/tmp/dtregister
- Click the Install button

This should get you around the upload limit on your server if you can't get that changed. Thanks!

FIXED. This is why I love message boards. You were correct and there must be a size restriction on my php uploads. I wasn't in the mood to discuss with my hosting provider so I ...

1. Unzipped the com_dtregister2_7_1c_J15.zip
2. moved most of the images from /admin/assets/images/ to another folder making sure to leave the index.html file inside /admin/assets/images/
3. re-zipped com_dtregister2_7_1c_J15 (without the images)
4. uploaded my images free version of com_dtregister2_7_1c_J15 without an error.
5. used my FTP client to place the removed images to /admin/assets/images/

There's obviously easier ways but this is what worked for me. Thanks for your help and contribution!
