TOPIC: Importing records via MySQL

I've got some legacy registration records in a 3rd party (not Joomla, not DT Register) system that I'd very much like to transfer to DT Register. The registrants have already been imported as joomla user records, and I appreciate that I've got to insert the individual registration record as well as the entry in the record_fields table in order to fully qualify the registrant. But I'm not enough of a scripter/db coder to make that happen properly.

Anyone have any thoughts on how I could get this import to happen -- is the easiest tack for me to go joomlancers and get someone to do it for a fee?
