TOPIC: Possible to only mark as deleted?

Hi

I would love to have a "delete me"-function for my community site!
But I'm very carefull with deleting things permanently, so...

Are profiles really deleted, or are they just marked as "deleted" in the database?
It would be great if site-admin could choose whether deletion of a profile meant deleting or simply marking as deleted (without throwing away all the data for the profile)...

Is this possible?
